Digit Span Test (DST)

Welcome to the Digit Span Test. Evaluate your memory capacity and explore your cognitive performance.

I will read a series of numbers. Please listen carefully and then repeat them in the same order. For example, if I say "3-5-2", you should answer "3-5-2". The test starts with 3 digits; if you repeat correctly twice, one more digit is added. The test ends after two consecutive mistakes.

I will read a series of numbers, but this time you need to repeat them in reverse order. For example, if I say "2-4-7", you should answer "7-4-2". The test starts with 2 digits; if you repeat correctly twice, one more digit is added. The test ends after two consecutive mistakes.

Detailed Introduction

This experiment measures your short-term memory capacity using digit sequences. This test includes a forward digit span task (recalling digits in order) and a reverse digit span task (recalling digits backwards) to help assess your overall short-term memory ability.

Test Instructions

Listen to the sequence of numbers and then input them in order. The test will gradually increase in difficulty.
