The MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit is a research centre advancing knowledge of human cognition, covering childhood development, mental health, ageing, dementias, neurological and sensory disorders, and fundamental cognitive neuroscience.
The unit addresses three Grand Challenges: building models that bridge brain and mind, understanding and supporting complex psychological and cognitive disorders, and identifying how people respond to adversity. It translates findings to improve health and wellbeing across the lifespan.
