FIAP is an organization that brings together associations and colleges of psychology in Latin America, dedicated to promoting the development and integration of psychology in the region.
Founded in 2002 during the III Ibero-American Congress of Psychology in Bogotá, FIAP seeks to consolidate Ibero-American psychology through cooperation between its members, the promotion of research and the continuing training of professionals in the area.
The field of Psychology first emerged at Harvard in the late 1800's under the scholarship of William James, and ever since then Harvard has been at the forefront of the field. The Department has a long and rich history, and its past faculty and researchers have included some of the most famous names in psychology, including B.F. Skinner, Gordon Allport, Jerome Bruner, George Miller, and Henry Murray. Psychology is one of the most popular courses of study among undergraduates at Harvard.
Psychology in the School of Social Sciences (SSS) offers scientific and practical training to introduce students to the field of psychology. It introduces students to the professional practices of psychologists and prepares students with the required skills and training for postgraduate studies should they prefer to carry on their education as a psychologist or behavioral researcher. Currently, the School has 18 full-time Psychology faculty members with postgraduate degrees from prominent universities in North America, Europe, and Asia. The School educates some 1,500 NTU students each semester within our core and elective psychology modules, and we have about 500 undergraduate students and 40 graduate research students currently enrolled in the undergraduate and graduate psychology programs.
At the University of Exeter, we aim to deliver world-leading psychology research and education, focusing on understanding mind and behavior across the lifespan and species, and positively impacting health and well-being.
