Founded in 1905, the Institute of Psychology at Goethe University Frankfurt has a rich history in experimental psychology. Today, it unites former institutes of psychology, educational psychology, and psychoanalysis, housing 19 professorships and standing as one of Germany's largest psychology institutes.
Today, the former Palais of Prince Heinrich on the avenue Unter den Linden, is the representative seat of the university.
Our department has three graduate programs that lead to a PhD—clinical, social-personality, and developmental psychology. We also have an undergraduate psychology major and several psychology minors.
An important overarching research interest in psychology at Heidelberg University is currently the analysis of (self-) regulation processes.
