The conversation surrounding mental health has become increasingly important, as the past few years have highlighted the unique challenges faced by marginalized communities. Specifically, individuals who identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) or as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) have often encountered distinct barriers when seeking mental health support. Recognizing the critical need for inclusive and culturally affirming support, we aim to provide custom resources for mental health exploration and healing within these communities.
In this course, we will explore different aspects of good mental health as well as provide an overview of the major kinds of mental disorders, their causes, treatments and how to seek help and support.The course will feature a large number of Australian experts in psychiatry, psychology and mental health research,and we will also hear from “lived experience experts”, people who have lived with mental illness, and share their personal stories of recovery.
The Benzodiazepine Information Coalition is a group of patients and medical professionals dedicated to educating about the potential adverse effects of benzodiazepines taken as prescribed. They aim to raise awareness, provide support to those affected, and promote evidence-based medical care.
Advances in Psychological Science, a monthly journal hosted by the Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, reflects the latest research progress in various fields of psychology. It primarily publishes reviews and commentaries on new advancements, trends, and achievements in psychology both domestically and internationally. The journal is a core journal in national databases such as the Chinese Science Citation Database and the Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index.
