It encourages organizations to commit to fostering a positive and supportive work environment that values the mental well-being of employees. By signing the charter, companies demonstrate their dedication to mental health and their willingness to implement policies and practices that promote a healthy workplace culture. The Chinese Hong Kong Government is implementing a mental health promotion and public education initiative known as “Shall We Talk”. This initiative aims to sustain the efforts of the Joyful@HK Campaign and enhance public understanding of mental health, with a view to building a mental health-friendly society in the long run. This Mental Health Workplace Charter (“the Charter”) is part of the initiative and organised jointly by the Department of Health, the Labour Department and the Occupational Safety and Health Council.
