The Department of Psychology at Catholic University of Korea was established in 1978. As of 2021, it has produced over 2,700 graduates. By 2021, the department boasts 13 faculty members, making it one of the largest departments at Catholic University. Psychology systematically studies human thoughts, actions, and emotions. This research process not only demands rigorous observation and experimentation, and logical inference but also requires a deep understanding and love for humanity. The Department of Psychology at Catholic University of Korea helps students accurately understand and accept people through practical and experiential exploration of various human psychologies and behaviors. The Psychology department at the University of Edinburgh was established in 1906 by the estate of George Combe. The first permanent post was known as the Combe lectureship in General and Experimental Psychology. The first incumbent, Dr W.G. Smith, was a PhD student of Wilhelm Wundt, a founding father of modern psychology. The second incumbent, James Drever, became the first Professor of Psychology in Scotland. After a philosophically oriented start, the appointment of a biologist, Professor D.M. Vowles, as chair in 1968 saw psychology develop strongly as a scientific discipline. The department was incorporated into the School of Philosophy, Psychology, & Language Sciences in 2003. We currently have around forty members of academic staff spanning all major areas of academic psychology: cognition, development, individual differences, neuroscience, and social psychology. We offer both undergraduate and postgraduate training, including several taught and research Masters, and PhDs.

The Institute of Psychology was created in 1920 and is the birthplace of French psychology. It was the first institution to train psychologists at the university level. The Institute has 4,000 students studying psychology from the undergraduate to the post-graduate level. It is one of the only training and research centers in France to offer a broad range of courses in the other subdisciplines that lead to the many careers in psychology. In addition, the Institute of Psychology sets itself apart through its experimental, clinical and applied research on societal issues and in the fields of health and education.
